Dr Delia Robertson BSc, MBBCh (Wits)

Intergrative Doctor

Integrative Doctor with an interest in Functional medicine. I am also a qualified Breathwork practitioner and yoga teacher.
“Delia’s passion has always been healing and she has expressed this in various ways in her life…
She qualified as a Medical Doctor from WITS University in 1995 after doing a BSc, majoring in Psychology and Genetics. She completed her internship at Helen Joseph Hospital in Johannesburg before gaining some overseas experience: 6 months in the UK in an Orthopaedic unit followed by 1 year of family and emergency medicine in New Zealand.
Back in Johannesburg she worked as a general practitioner for 20 years.
Delia qualified as a Kundalini Yoga teacher in 2001 and spent 12 years teaching a weekly class at Houghton House, a drug rehabilitation centre.
In the past 5 years, she has developed a special interest in Functional Medicine and has done her AFMCP (Applied Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice) qualification through the Institute for Functional Medicine in the USA, providing her with a solid foundation to work from in this modality. Functional medicine is a science based expansion on allopathic medicine that concerns itself with the underlying biochemical and energetic causes for illness in the body. It aims to address these causes as far as possible rather than treating symptoms where chronic illness is concerned. It is a comprehensive and holistic approach to health and well-being.
Delia also qualified as a Breathwork practitioner with Dr Ela Manga (Breathwork Africa) in 2021 and is excited about using breathwork to help clients break the stress and sympathetic overdrive cycle that so many people are struggling with at the moment, sometimes with crippling effects on health and well-being.
In conclusion, Delia currently enjoys practicing as an Integrative Practitioner, bringing together a variety of techniques and understandings from her various areas of study and experience to work hand in hand with her clients to facilitate their unique and individual healing process.
Outside of work, Delia has been married for 19 years and one of her greatest achievements is being a mother to her daughter and son.
She loves family, friends, nature, cooking, reading, travel and making a difference.”
